Embassy at Work - Philippine Youth Leadership Program Video

The Philippine Youth Leadership Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, sends groups of students from Mindanao to the US for one-month stays. In the US, the participants take part in an intensive four-week training institute on inter-ethnic dialogue and conflict resolution. The participants also learn about American civic society, diversity, and traditions of volunteerism. The young people who are selected to participate in the program are third-year high school and first-year college students, aged 15-18. The adults are community activists, aged 40 or under. YLPP is administered by Northern Illinois University (Dekalb, Illinois) in partnership with Capitol University of Cagayan de Oro City, and the Philippine International Visitor Alumni Association (IVP-Phils).
